Advanced Dental Therapy
Two new courses were added to the Active Course List effective fall 2025
- ADT 646 Advanced Dental Therapy Clinic & Lab III (5) - This clinic and lab course provides the student with opportunities to deepen and refine their skills and judgments in providing advanced dental therapy scope of practice to underserved patients across the lifespan. In the clinical setting ethics, responsibility, self-assessment, and self-improvement continue to be emphasized as well as professional referrals and collaborations to provide comprehensive patient care.
- ADT 647 Advanced Dental Therapy Seminar III (1) - This lecture course provides the student with opportunities to deepen and refine their knowledge and judgments in providing advanced dental therapy scope of practice to underserved patients across the lifespan. Topics include interdisciplinary healthcare, special needs populations, and management of medical emergencies.

- NURS 669 Advanced Practice Quality and Safety (3) - This course focuses on the structures, processes, concepts, tools, and experiences leading to quality and safety for patient care across healthcare settings. This includes the planning, implementation, and evaluation phases of professional care from an interprofessional and organizational perspective.
- NURS 780 Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN) Certification (1-9) - This course prepares the graduate for transition to an advanced practice registered nursing (APRN) role. Preparation for the national certification examination is included along with creation of an individual study plan based on practice testing or other predictor exams. Practice exam questions will be completed using a diverse range of ages, genders, ethnicities, health disparities, social determinants of health, and medical conditions appropriate to the area of certification. Initial application for certification and state licensure will be included.
- NURS 668 Nurse Practitioner Practice, Quality, and Safety was removed from the catalog
- Program description was updated. The following sentence was removed: We define diverse as including gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, ethnic background, religion, linguistic ability, and ability.
