Welcome… I’m your LCC, Madelyn Siegel!

I am so excited to meet you in the fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Exploring Teaching Careers Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can! 

Major: Elementary Education

How/what made you decide this major: I have always enjoyed school and being a mentor to young children. I love learning and being in a learning environment. Teaching is a job with a lot of variety and a way of serving the communities.

Year in School: Sophomore 

Hometown: Morris, MN

Favorite Food: Pasta

Advice for LC Students: Join everything that interests you and don't be afraid to try something new, college is a great time to figure out what you like. Take time for yourself. Don't overcrowd your schedule because you still need time to yourself.

Smartest thing you ever did/best decision you ever made: Joining the Elementary Education Learning Community during my first year at MSU. It helped me meet new people and get involved on campus. 

Favorite thing about MSU: I have always loved the very welcoming environment and there is always something going on that you can attend to socialize. 

Campus/LC Involvement: I was part of the Elementary Education Learning Community last year and will continue this year.  

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: I love to go downtown to a local coffee shop and work on homework.

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: I like to spend my time with my friends we like to drive around and explore Mankato as well as go on long hikes.
