Welcome... I'm your LCC, Emily Hodge!

I am so excited to meet you this fall.  I will be a resource for you as you navigate through your first year of college here at Minnesota State University, Mankato!  Being involved with the Multicultural Learning Community will help you academically as well as socially, so utilize me and your peers as much as you can!

Major/Potential Major: Social Work

How/what made you decide this major? I chose social work in order to learn more about people. I particularly want to help individuals get through rough times in their journey of life.

Year in School: Sophomore

Hometown: Sioux City, IA

Favorite Food: Cajun Chicken Alfredo

Advice for LC Students: Join an activity and go to as many events on campus as you can! Going to events or activities that you like can help you meet new people and gain connections.

Smartest thing you ever did/best decision you ever made: Picking MSU and going to college to further my education in social work. Coming to MSU has helped me experience a lot of new things and gain many great opportunities.

Favorite thing about MSU: The library. It’s a great place to study, relax, or hang out with friends.

Campus/LC Involvement: I do colorguard within the Maverick Machine and I was apart of the multicultural learning community in 2022-2023.

Favorite thing to do in Mankato: Go on Target runs or explore the local art!

Favorite things to do outside of school/coursework: I love to garden and take care of plants.

Anything else we should know about you? My favorite color is pink!
