Introduction to Belaying and Ropework

• 7pm-8:30pm (offered every-other week depending on instructor availability. Please check registration page for offerings.)

This class is for climbers who are new to the sport. Climbers will work on proper knot tying, equipment usage and belay techniques. This clinic is 1.5 hours in length. This clinic is best for someone who has previously visited our rock wall, but wants to take the next step in learning.

Introduction to Lead Climbing and Lead Belaying*

• 7:00pm-8:30pm (offered every-other week depending on instructor availability. Please check registration page for offerings.)

This class will give climbers foundations of becoming a Lead Climber and Lead Belayer. Climbers will be instructed on ropework, climbing, gear and risk management of Lead Climbing. Climbers must be able to climb 5.9 (Yosemite Decimal System) comfortably to take the class. This clinic is 1.5 hours in length.

*Participants need to be top rope belay Qualified before signing up for a Lead Climbing and Lead Belay Clinic. Top rope and Lead clinics cannot be competed in the same week.

 

The cost of clinics does not include entry fees to the rock wall. You will need to have an active membership or purchase a day-pass.

 

Clinics are free for current MSU students and $10 for non students.
