Tuition Reciprocity

Reciprocity is an agreement between states affecting the tuition a student pays. Students from Wisconsin and North Dakota must apply to their home state for reciprocity status.

100% Online Learners

Non-resident undergraduate students enrolled exclusively in online courses at Minnesota State Mankato for an academic term may qualify for tuition charges equal to current Minnesota Resident rate.

International Students

International Students are eligible for a significant reduction in non-resident undergraduate tuition rates through the International Maverick Scholarship.

Legacy Students

Children of Minnesota State Mankato alumni who live outside of Minnesota will be offered the same tuition rate as Minnesota resident students to attend the University. This discounted rate does not apply to students who qualify for reciprocity tuition rates or students enrolled in programs that charge the same tuition rate for all students regardless of residency.

Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens are Minnesota residents that are age 62 or older.

Talent Based Recruitment

Non-resident students who are actively recruited to attend Minnesota State Mankato on the basis of special skills, talents or abilities may be offered in-state tuition to attend the University. University Admissions coordinates the granting of in-state tuition with recruiting departments (Intercollegiate Athletics, Theatre, Music, Speech, etc.).

Student Fees

Student fees are charged for Student Activities, Student Government, Centennial Student Union building, Technology Services, Health Services and Campus Recreation facilities.

Special Course Fees

There are additional costs for personal property or services provided to students enrolled in certain courses. Examples include music, art, theatre, aviation, nursing, human performance, mechanical engineering, and business courses. The Notes section of the course description will indicate whether a special course fee will be charged.
