Language Partners Program
Cultural Exchange, Academic Support, Global Community
In addition to English as a Second Language classes, students in the Intensive English Program (IEP) receive one-on-one or small group tutoring 2 hours a week with a Minnesota State University domestic student who has received tutoring training. Tutors prepare materials and topics for structured discussions and help with homework and assignments. The IEP students will therefore develop their interactive speaking and listening skills through authentic communication with an English native-speaker in an informal and non-judgmental setting. Through this process, they will also develop their intercultural communication skills and learn about American and university culture.
