Early Arrival

Residence Communities open on thursday, august 22.

Under approved circumstances, students may move in early. Select the category below that applies to you.

Groups

  • If you are a student affiliated with a group, do not submit an individual early arrival request. Your coach/instructor/director will provide information to us.

Arrive August 10-21, 2024

Students will move directly into their fall room assignment.
  • Limited Residential Life services available during this time.
You will be billed $27 per day/per student for arrival prior to August 19.
  • Residence Communities open on August 22.

Send roster to nicole.faust@mnsu.edu at least one week prior to arrival date.
Include: names, techIDs, date/time of preferred check-in, and indicate if the student or department is responsible for early arrival fees.

If you require food service for students, contact University Dining Services.
  • Meal plans begin at 4 p.m. on August 22.

International Students

Arrive August 10-21, 2024

Move directly into your fall room assignment.

  • Limited Residential Life services available during this time.
You will be billed $27 per day for arrival prior to August 19.
  • Residence Communities open on August 22.
Submit an Early Arrival Request in the Housing & Dining Portal beginning TO BE DETERMINED.
  • Only approved students will be allowed to move in early.
Check-in between 10 a.m. and midnight (12 a.m.) at the Residential Life Office, 111 Carkoski Commons.
  • Students arriving after midnight will need to make hotel arrangements until the next day.

After you submit a request, you can expect to receive an email response within three business days.

  • If you cancel your housing, your early arrival request will also be cancelled.

Students

We recognize that some students may have circumstances that require them to arrive on campus sooner than Move-In (such as on-campus employment or family reasons).

Process

  • Students should submit an Early Arrival Request in the Housing & Dining Portal beginning TO BE DETERMINED.
  • Students should expect an email response within three business days. If approved, check-in instructions will be provided. 

Dates

Students will specify the date they would like to move-in on their Early Arrival Request. The first day we will allow early arrivals to move-in is Saturday, August 10.

Cost

Students who arrive prior to August 19 are billed $27 per night to their University E-services account (meals are not included). The first meal offered by the student's meal plan is dinner on Thursday, August 22.
