The Behavioral Consultation Team (BCT) is designed for developing strategies when there is a concern for a student who may be distressed or distressing others. Early intervention and referral can help support the health, safety, and success of the MSU community.
The Behavioral Consultation Team is a campus wide team that:
• Provides consultation,
• Makes recommendations for action, and
• Coordinates campus resources

Please report a situation, observation or instinct that tells you to be concerned about a student’s safety and/or the safety of the campus community. Submit concerns to:

If a student poses an immediate danger to self and/or others or threats of violence, call Law Enforcement at 911 or Security at 389-2111

Are you concerned about a student's physical or mental health? Has a student disrupted your class or caused you to worry about future actions?

Signs of distress

• Endangers the safety of any employee, student, or visitor
• Depression
• Limited social skills
• Causes damage to personal or college property
• Creates a hostile campus environment
• Substance abuse
• Suicidal thoughts
• Frequently angry, easily frustrated
• Bizarre acting out
• Chronic absenteeism
• Recent problems at home/school/work
• Disruptive behavior/physical assault
• Aggression threats
• Emotional withdrawal
