It's Almost Your Time to Sign Up!
If you are a current student living in Residential Life housing, you may sign up to live on campus again next year through E-services beginning as early as November 2, 2015. As a returning student, you can hand-pick your room for next year during our Room Selection process. Pay attention to the dates below to figure out when you can pick your room!
2016-2017 Room Selection Schedule
Monday, November 2 thru Sunday, November 8 - Same Room Sign-Up
During this time period, you may sign up to live in the same room you are currently residing in for the 16-17 academic year.
Monday, November 9 thru Sunday, November 15 - Same Building Sign-Up
During this time period, you may sign up to choose a room in the same building you are currently living in.
Monday, November 16 thru Thursday, March 31 - Any Room Sign-Up
During this time period, all students currently living in on-campus housing may reserve a room in any location on campus (Crawford, McElroy, Julia Sears, Preska, and Stadium Heights).
Choose Your Room Online
It's easy to make your housing reservation for next year! Simply go to E-services on the date that applies to you (see the schedule above) and select the Housing and Dining tab on the left hand side of the screen. Once there, select Apply for Housing under the 2016-2017 Academic Year and you'll be on your way to picking your own room for next year. Please understand that when you apply for housing, you will be asked to make a $250 prepayment which will be applied to your Fall 2016 housing charges. In order to apply for housing, you will need:
- Your TechID
- A credit or debit card to make the prepayment (If you want to make your prepayment by cash, check, or money order please come to the Residential Life Office at 111 Carkoski Commons to make your payment PRIOR to choosing your room online).
Carefully read the 2016-2017 Housing Contract before you agree to the terms. You are entering into a legal agreement in effect for the entire academic year. Once Residential Life has accepted your Housing Contract, the terms within both the Housing Contract and Residential Life Student Guide apply.
Live With Your Friends
When you sign up online, you may hold a space in your room for another current student who has not yet signed up. You will need the other student's name and TechID to enter into your housing application. When the other student logs in to E-services to apply, they will see that they have an "invitation" from you. If you do not request a specific roommate, the other space in the room you have chosen will be available to other students signing up online. A requested roommate space can be held through May 20. After May 20, the hold will be released and another student will be assigned to the room.
If you are interested in signing up for a semi-suite or apartment with two or more other students, your group should try to sign up at the same time. Please contact the Department of Residential Life to place holds on the spaces if not all students will apply for the room at the same time and you wish to place holds on the spaces.
If you want to change your room after your initial sign-up, stop by the Residential Life Office at 111 Carkoski Commons. Room changes must be completed in the Residential Life Office in person. Do NOT cancel your room and attempt to sign up again.
Resident Meal Plan Options
All students living on campus must choose a meal plan. Meal plans for 2016-2017 have not yet been finalized. You will have the opportunity to choose a meal plan beginning in February.

Living Off Campus: Is it more expensive to live on campus or off campus?
Like so many things, it depends on what your preferences are. There is a range of prices in on-campus housing just like there is in off-campus housing. To assist you in comparing amenities and prices, you can use this consumer guide to help you directly compare costs.
The University provides information to assist students in their housing transition, including information on apartment listings, renter rights and responsibilities, campus shuttle services, and city bus services at Off-Campus Housing.
