Residence Communities Will Close

Residence Communities will close for Spring Break at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019. The University Dining Center closes at 6 p.m.

The residence communities will reopen at noon Sunday, March 10, 2019.  The first meal served in the University Dining Center will be dinner beginning at 4 p.m.


Spring Break Housing

Sign up at your Front Desk (or Stadium Heights Office) between Monday, February 18 and Wednesday, February 27 to stay in your room over Spring Break. There is no charge to stay on campus during Spring Break. Anyone found in the residence communities over Spring Break who did not register will be charged an administrative fee of $50 and may be subject to disciplinary proceedings.

Students living in Julia Sears, Crawford, McElroy, Preska and Stadium Heights will be able to use their MavCARD to unlock specified doors in the buildings if they are registered for break housing.


Before you leave for Spring Break, be sure to:

1. CLOSE and LOCK your windows.
2. Remove all trash from your room.
3. Return all To-Go meal containers to the University Dining Center.
4. Turn off the alarm on your clock.
5. Close your blinds if you live on the first floor.
6. Turn off the lights.
7. CLOSE your door and make sure the lock on the door is SECURE.

Residents do NOT need to unplug electrical items in their rooms. If you live in a Renovated room, please turn your unit off before leaving for break.


Safety Checks

Residential Life staff members will be checking main campus rooms on Friday, March 1 between 5-8 p.m. to help secure the building. Stadium Heights Apartments will be checked on Monday, March 4 beginning at 1 p.m.

If policy violations are observed while staff is securing the building, staff will document the violation and follow-up will take place when the resident returns. During the break period, all residence community and University policies remain in effect.


Mail

Mail will only be delivered to students who signed up for Spring Break Housing. Students living at Stadium Heights will continue to receive mail and packages per the USPS schedule.


Services Provided During Spring Break

All Residence Community Front Desks in Crawford, McElroy, Julia Sears, & Preska, as well as the Stadium Heights Office will be open daily from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. during the break period.


Leaving Your Car On Campus Over Spring Break

Only residents who are registered to stay in the Crawford, McElroy, Julia Sears and Preska Residence Communities over Spring Break may keep their vehicles in on-campus parking lots. If you are leaving over the break, you must take your vehicle with you or find other parking arrangements. 

Crawford, McElroy, Julia Sears and Preska residents staying on campus over Spring Break must park their vehicles in Lots 14 or 16.  Stadium Heights residents should park in front of Building 705.

In the event of a snow emergency, you are responsible for moving your vehicle in accordance with parking guidelines.


Transportation

Stomper Express will be in service during break, as well as Routes 2/6/7 (which serve campus - not Stadium Heights). Stomper Express provides service to Stadium Heights at :12 and :48 after the hour, McElroy at :04 and :58 after the hour, and the CSU at :00 and :02 after the hour.
